Drivers can change their status from Available to Away in the Driver App. If the setting SMS notify a driver set to away is enabled, the driver will still receive a notification when a job is assigned to them while they are set to Away.
To find this setting, go to Admin, then General, then Drivers, and open the Notifications.
This feature is useful when drivers use a dedicated in car device for the Driver App, such as a tablet, while keeping their personal phone separate.
When a driver’s status is set to Away, they will receive an SMS message on their personal phone if a new job is assigned to them. The message notifies them that a job has been received.
Some setup is required before using this feature. The driver’s personal phone number must be added to their driver profile.
This setup works best for companies that provide tablets or other in car devices for drivers to run the Driver App. With this feature enabled, drivers can step away from the vehicle without taking the company device with them and will still be notified when a new job is assigned.
