In most cases, Gmail will classify emails sent from generic accounts as spam and not deliver them. We recommend using your own domain or own company email address instead (e.g.,
[email protected])
If you're using Google Workspace for your company email, please note that Google no longer allows standard passwords for SMTP authentication. To use SMTP with Google Workspace, you need to:
- Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on the account being used
- Generate an App Password to use instead of your regular password
Using your standard account password will not work for SMTP access. You can generate an App Password from your Google Account security settings.
Setup Instructions for the custom emailer
To set up the custom emailer, navigate to https://portal.taxicaller.net/dispatch/notifications/settings and check “Use custom emailer” under the Emails section.
You’ll need to provide the following information:
- Host: Your SMTP server address
- Port: Your SMTP port number
- From: The email address that recipients will see as the sender
- Username: Your email account username (typically your full email address)
- Password: Your email password (or App Password if using Google Workspace)
Note: Depending on your email provider’s requirements, you may need to enable “Use SMTP over SSL”. For more information about this setting and which ports require it, see Customer E-mailer - Use SMTP over SSL.
