Why does the Envelope App fail to send messages?

The Envelope App does not send SMS messages itself. Instead, it passes the message from the TaxiCaller system to the SMS application on your device (the same app you normally use to send and receive text messages).

If messages fail to send, it is usually due to a configuration issue. For example, the user may be set up as a Driver or Dispatcher, but not as a Messenger, which prevents the system from sending SMS messages through the app.

Another common reason is that the Envelope App does not have permission to send SMS messages from your device.

If you try to send an SMS notification through the Envelope App and hear an “engaged” dial tone, it is likely that the app does not have the required SMS permission.

How to fix this

  • Open your device settings
  • Go to Apps
  • Select the Envelope App
  • Open Permissions
  • Make sure SMS permission is set to Allow

Once you have enabled the permission:

  • Close the Envelope App
  • Re-open the app
  • Sign in again and try sending the message
