Dispatch timings options

This section allows you to predefine a set of timing options in the system.

• Minimum time: Controls the minimum assignment time (T-minus) that the system will recommend for a job scheduled for later. You can see this assignment time in the dispatch console. A dispatcher will still be able to manually choose an earlier assignment time.
• Time per km: The value you set here will be used by the system to calculate the recommended assignment time (T-minus). It will use the distance between the pick-up site of a job to the center of the pick-up area as determined by the company profile.

For example if you set it to 01:00 per km, and the pick up site for a job is 10 km away from the center of the pick-up area, it will recommend that the job be assigned at least 10 minutes before it’s due to start (it will assume that the vehicles in that area will spend approximately 1 minute driving time per kilometer).

*If you set this value to a very small value (even 00:00 per km), it may still be limited with the Minimum time setting so that it never assigns a job under a certain amount of minutes, giving time for the driver to arrive to the pick-up site. Currently, you cannot set this minimum time to under 5 minutes.

• Passenger wait: This can be set according to how long your drivers usually have to wait for their passengers.
• Passenger drop off: This can be set according to how long your drivers usually take to drop off passengers.

*The information from both passenger wait and passenger drop off is optional and would then be used to calculate job duration predictions more accurately. Since it is based on information from your company, the predictions would be customized.
