What is a taxi rank?

The taxi rank feature is a part of the advanced assignment zone configuration and allows you to define one, or multiple zones as “taxi ranks” to help manage and improve the t-time calculations on pre-booked jobs.

T-Time

• The time at which a prebooked job should be assigned to a driver to give them enough time to arrive. (For example, a t-time of -10min means the job should be assigned to a driver 10 minutes before the pick-up time.)

Center point

• As the system cannot predict where cars will be at the time of a prebooked job, the system calculates the t-time based on the distance between the pick-up location and the center point of the company’s service area.

Example In the test zone “5 BRK” Brooklyn we know what most vehicles are usually located around Ridgewood so we want the center point of Zone 5 to be right there. See the steps below to make this is set up the way we want it.

1. Make sure “Is Taxi Rank” is checked to enable the feature for the particular zone you are editing.
2. Drag and drop the blue dot where you want the center point to be placed for the zone (see arrow in screenshot below).

This will now be the center point at which the -T time is calculated.
