Can I send SMS notifications via a third-party sender?

Yes. TaxiCaller supports sending SMS notifications to passengers via third-party SMS providers.

This is an alternative to sending SMS messages through the Envelope App or directly from drivers’ phones. Once a third-party SMS service is activated on your account, all passenger text messages will be sent through that provider.

The integration itself is handled by our technical team and is typically a smooth process, provided all required information is supplied.

How It Works

Once configured:

  • SMS messages are sent through your selected third-party provider
  • No Envelope App or physical device is required to send messages
  • Messages are delivered directly via the provider’s infrastructure

Currently, TaxiCaller currently supports direct integrations with:

  • Twilio
  • Connectel

Follow the guides on the links below to set up your preferred provider

Additionally, it may be possible to use another SMS provider. If you prefer to use a provider other than Twilio or Connectel, check the following guide: How do I set up SMS notifications via a third-party sender?

TaxiCaller supports sending SMS messages via webhooks, which allows integration with other providers, but as a first step, please reach out to our support team, your dedicated account manager or consult one of the other articles mentioned above.

Important

TaxiCaller does not charge for setting up an SMS integration, however, please be aware when exploring options that SMS providers such charge separately for:

  • SMS messages sent
  • Phone number rental (if applicable)
  • Additional provider-specific fees

For pricing information, please contact your desired SMS provider directly.
