Eco-Driving Module for Taxi App

Investigate how the built-in accelerometer and GPS in a mobile device can be used to track eco-friendly driving and safety. The orientation of the phone will have to be auto-calibrated to determine the direction of accelerations in the vehicle's reference framework. The data will then be used to identify heavy braking and accelerations and to derive statistics of driver behavior. A proof of concept library will be developed that can be tested in the field on thousands of vehicles. Additionally, a model should be proposed on how to calculate scores for safety and eco-friendliness.
