From Traditional to Tech-Driven Success

Back in 2006, CGacela was a small transportation company in Long Island, New York. They started with only six vehicles and used simple, traditional methods—radio communication and pen-and-paper—to handle bookings. Growth was slow, and with a competitive market, founder Juan Payero realized something needed to change if CGacela was going to thrive.

Overall, they now manage up to 65,000 rides monthly, across all booking channels. The app brought in more than just convenience for passengers—it helped CGacela make smarter, data-driven decisions which led to both increased revenue and customer satisfaction.

Of course, transitioning to this new system wasn’t entirely without bumps. Some drivers preferred the old ways and were resistant to change. But with the help of TaxiCaller’s account manager, Denise, and a lot of hands-on training, CGacela successfully made the switch. Drivers soon saw the benefits too—smoother navigation, better incentives, and an overall more efficient workday.

Looking ahead, CGacela has big plans. They’re preparing to expand their fleet from 150 to 200 vehicles, with a strong focus on electric cars to cut fuel costs and reduce their environmental impact.
